Foundry operative — Bernalillo County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. On a typical shift you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Part-time with flexible hours.
