Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Washington County, Nebraska. You will work at an automotive body and exhaust shop. You should have: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety On the job you will handle: • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
