Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Van Wert County, Ohio. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Your main tasks: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
