Lifting rigger — Pitt County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Pitt County, North Carolina. The job is at a container port. Day to day you will coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight. Requirements: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
