Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Macoupin County, Illinois. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. The role involves TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush. You should have: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding Six days a week, one day off. $210 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
