Ideal candidate: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently On a typical shift you will inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish.
