Core maker wanted in Clay County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a core maker in Clay County, Minnesota. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $200 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
