Brick and block layer wanted in Jackson County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Jackson County, Michigan. You will work at a residential building site. Your main tasks: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays Ideal candidate: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Full-time with occasional weekends.
