Heavy equipment operator — McDowell County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator in McDowell County, West Virginia. You will be based in an open-cast mine. On a typical shift you will stockpile and spread material to the required levels; keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook; load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension; grease the pins, bushings and slew ring at the start of each shift; backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations. What we are looking for: • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently • Able to read levels, pegs and basic site drawings • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures Rotating shifts.
