Vacancy available: turning centre operator (Alaska)

Now hiring: we are hiring a turning centre operator in Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska. The job is on the CNC turning shop floor. Requirements: • ITI / NCVT certificate in the machinist (turner) trade preferred • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges On the job you will handle: • Adjust feeds and speeds to control the surface finish • Run first-off inspection and sign off the part • Check diameters and lengths against the spec sheet • Load and index turning tools in the turret • Set up workpieces in three-jaw chucks and collets Overtime paid at a premium rate.
