Blocklayer — Alcona County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Alcona County, Michigan. On a typical shift you will raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding $4,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
