Join our team: we are hiring a blocklayer in Charles City County, Virginia. You will be based on a new-build development. What we are looking for: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks The role involves setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go. Six days a week, one day off. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
