Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Whitley County, Kentucky. You will work at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Requirements: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage You will select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through.
