Argon welding operator — Washington County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Washington County, Illinois. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Requirements: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols On the job you will handle: • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. $2,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
