Banksman — Montgomery County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Montgomery County, Illinois. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Your main tasks: • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
