Dogger — Pike County

Now hiring: we are hiring a dogger in Pike County, Indiana. You will be based on an offshore oil and gas platform. On the job you will handle: • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller Ideal candidate: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
