Foundry labourer — Saint Louis County

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Saint Louis County, Missouri. The job is at a busy iron foundry. The role involves cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 1+ years on the tools preferred.
