Join our team: machine operator (earthworks) (Iowa)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Des Moines County, Iowa. You will work in an open-cast quarry. Your main tasks: • Lift and place pipes, manholes and precast sections with the bucket and chains • Dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels • Dig and trim drainage channels and attenuation ponds • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Load spoil into tippers and dumpers cleanly without spillage • Work to laser, GPS or 2D/3D machine-control guidance What we are looking for: • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat 3+ years on the tools preferred. $5,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
