Core maker wanted in Jefferson County

Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Jefferson County, Texas. You will work on the moulding line. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
