Foundry operative — Wayne County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Wayne County, Ohio. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
