You should have: • Confident using diagnostic scan tools • Physically fit for lifting heavy parts Day to day you will replace clutch plates and gearbox components; estimate repair costs and order the right parts; carry out wheel alignment and tyre balancing; trace electrical faults in the starting and charging systems; read fault codes and clear them after the repair; road-test vehicles to confirm the repair.
