Core maker — King County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a core maker in King County, Washington. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding On the job you will handle: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $4,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
