We are recruiting: we are hiring a blocklayer in Livingston County, Illinois. The job is at a renovation and extension job. You will mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings. What we are looking for: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
