Core maker — Tehama County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in Tehama County, California. Day to day you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
