Now hiring: we are hiring a precision welder in Sioux County, Iowa. The job is on an industrial construction site. What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Day-to-day duties: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
