Immediate opening: we are hiring a milling machine operator in Central Bedfordshire, England. What we are looking for: • Able to grind and set HSS cutters • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron Day to day you will set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe; set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines; apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed; monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters; carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance; run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production.
