Fettler — Iberville Parish

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Iberville Parish, Louisiana. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On a typical shift you will operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring.
