MIG welder — Yates County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a MIG welder in Yates County, New York. Requirements: • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding On the job you will handle: • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Pay around $2,700 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
