Sand plant operator — Crockett County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Crockett County, Texas. The job is at a busy iron foundry. On the job you will handle: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
