Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry worker in Sabine County, Texas. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
