Foundry worker — Butte County

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry worker in Butte County, Idaho. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Six days a week, one day off.
