Now hiring: we are hiring a confectioner in Richmond County, North Carolina. Requirements: • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen • Understanding of food-safety and HACCP basics The role involves prove dough in the proofer at the right temperature and humidity; decorate cakes with icing, fondant and fresh cream; grease and clean baking trays, tins and moulds; boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing; weigh and mix flour, yeast, water and salt to the day's recipe; knead and develop dough by hand and in the spiral mixer. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
