Pipe tig welder wanted in Letcher County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Letcher County, Kentucky. You will work in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Day-to-day duties: • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Full-time with occasional weekends. $130 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
