Now hiring: we are hiring a stitching operator in Ulster County, New York. The job is at a busy garment factory. Requirements: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory The role involves press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet.
