Overlocker operator • Keweenaw County, Michigan

Immediate opening: we are hiring an overlocker operator in Keweenaw County, Michigan. The job is in a small denim manufacturing unit. The role involves: • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory 1+ years on the tools preferred.
