Furnace operator — Custer County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Custer County, South Dakota. Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Part-time with flexible hours.
