Immediate opening: brickwork mason (Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Appomattox County, Virginia. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. The role involves laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser. Requirements: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding Six days a week, one day off.
