Shakeout operator • Doniphan County, Kansas

Vacancy available: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Doniphan County, Kansas. You will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. What we are looking for: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 4+ years on the tools preferred.
