Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Clark County, Illinois. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends.
