Foundry operative — Prowers County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Prowers County, Colorado. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 5+ years on the tools preferred.
