Shakeout operator — Northwest Arctic Borough

Great opportunity: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Northwest Arctic Borough, Alaska. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Day-to-day duties: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
