Horizontal milling machine operator — Anchorage Municipality

Great opportunity: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Anchorage Municipality, Alaska. You will be based at an automotive components factory. The role involves: • Run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Load and edit CNC programs (G-code) at the Fanuc/Siemens control • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery • Apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed You should have: • Able to grind and set HSS cutters • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
