Join our team: we are hiring an argon welder in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Your main tasks: • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
