Now hiring: we are hiring a banksman in McLean County, Illinois. You will work at a container port. The role involves direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller. Ideal candidate: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Overtime paid at a premium rate.
