Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Cherokee County, Kansas. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Your main tasks: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings 2+ years on the tools preferred.
