Core maker — Tai

Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Tai, Rivers State. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts On the job you will handle: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects 4+ years on the tools preferred.
