Argon welding operator wanted in Rooks County

Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Rooks County, Kansas. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Requirements: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
