The role involves: • Check alignment with measuring gauges after a structural pull • Shrink stretched and oil-canned metal with a shrinking hammer • Replace damaged doors, wings, bonnets and bumpers • Knock out dents and creases using a panel hammer and dolly • Straighten chassis and frames on a jig bench with pulling chains • Measure and set panel gaps for an even shut line Ideal candidate: • Confident reading insurance estimates and damage reports • Physically fit for lifting panels, bending and kneeling • Good eye for panel gaps and body lines Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
