Now hiring: we are hiring a garment presser in Calhoun County, Michigan. The job is at a textile finishing unit. Ideal candidate: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Your main tasks: • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Meet the daily piece target without damaging garments • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts Six days a week, one day off. $4,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
