Baker — Somerset County

Now hiring: we are hiring a baker in Somerset County, Maine. You will be based at a cake shop. Your main tasks: • Boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing • Knead and develop dough by hand and in the spiral mixer • Decorate cakes with icing, fondant and fresh cream • Load and unload the deck oven with a peel • Laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter Requirements: • Accurate at weighing and following recipes • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. $2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
